The Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek reaches the nearby area of the Machhapuchhre Base Camp and offers you the panoramic views of the spectacular mountains including Machhapuchhre (also known as Fishtail), Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Gangapurna, Hiunchuli and Mardi Himal. The solitary trail passes through the pristine forest of pine and rhododendron, terraced fields and along many rivers. This falls under the least visited trails in Nepal as it is newly opened. The region is dotted with beautiful villages having typical Nepalese architecture and style in their possession. During the trek you will be fascinated to find the diverse culture. Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 m)

Highlights: Exploration of the cultural city of Kathamandu

Arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Our representative will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Take rest and try to get over the effects of jet lag. A brief session regarding our further program would be conducted. Explore the neighborhood and arrange your dinner on your own. Catch up on some much needed sleep and prepare yourself for the next day tour.

Day 2
Kathmandu City Tour (1350 m)

Duration: 8 hours

Transportation: Private van/jeep

Accommodation: Hotel in Kathmandu

Highlights: Exploration of the cultural city of Kathamandu

We will spend the day exploring the Kathmandu Valley. First, we will visit Swayambhunath also called the “Monkey Temple”. Take in the views of the city from atop one of the most important Buddhist stupas in Nepal. You will be then taken to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most prominent Hindu religious site in the world. After this a short lunch break will be taken. Lunch is on your own. Finally you will be taken to Patan Durbar Square. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner. Also, you can do the last hour shopping to buy some gears needed during your trekking.

Day 3
Kathmandu to Australian Camp (2060 m)

Total distance: Approximately 7 hours of driving and one and half hours of trekking

Transportation: Private van/jeep

Accommodation: Tea house in Australian Camp

Highlights: Various rivers, terraced fields and green mountains en route and panoramic views of the Annapurna range from the Australian Camp

You will be taken to the village of Kande from Kathmandu on a private jeep or van. Soak up the views of the terraced paddy fields, lush mountains and various rivers while riding on the vehicle.

Your trek starts from Kande. Walk on a short and steep uphill trail to Australian Camp for around one and half hours. If weather is good enough you will be enjoying the spectacular panoramic views of the Annapurna range from the camp.

Day 4
Australian Camp to Forest Camp (2600 m)

Total distance: Approximately 6-7 hours of trekking

Accommodation: Tea house in Forest Camp

Highlights: Spectacular views of the Himalayan peaks including Machhapuchhre and Hiunchuli

After breakfast at the tea house, begin your trek towards Forest Camp. The trail follows a route ascending through verdant forests of rhododendron, pine and oak trees. From Pittam Deurali the trail is separated from the main trail to Annapurna Base Camp. There are no tea houses between Pittam Deurali and Forest Camp so manage your food and water for the way accordingly. Upon your arrival at Forest Base Camp you will be taken to local tea house. Rest and relax at the tea house.

Day 5
Forest Camp to Low Camp (2970 m)

Total distance: Approximately 4-5 hours of trekking

Highlights: Close up view of Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli and Annapurna South

Have breakfast at the tea house and start your trek to Low Camp. The trail today is steep and winding passing through the pristine forest. During your trek you can enjoy the cool breeze brushing your face. Continue your ascend over the ridge of the Manjh Danda to reach Low Camp. Low Camp offers the close up views of the massive mountains Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli and Annapurna South. Enjoy your time in Low Camp.

Day 6
Low Camp to High Camp (3600 m)

Total distance: Approximately 4-5 hours of trekking

Accommodation: Tea house in High Camp

Highlights: Thrilling feeling of high altitude along the trail above the treeline

Today the trail will pass along a spectacular ridge of Nangge Danda towards Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhre. On the way you will briefly stop at Badal Danda which lies above the treeline. As you will be walking above the treeline prepare yourself for low temperatures. If the weather is promising you can see splendid views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Mardi Himal, Ghorepani and Pokhara Valley clearly from here.

Day 7
High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500 m) to Badal Danda (3210 m)

Total distance: Approximately 6-7 hours of trekking

Accommodation: Tea house at Badal Danda

Highlights: Panoramic views of the Himalays from Mardi Himal Base Camp

Today is the hardest and the most important day on this trek. Rise early to enjoy the stunning sunrise and magnificient mountain views. Start trekking along the uphill trail to reach a view point which offers a panoramic views of Annapurna massif, Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal and Hiunchuli. Shoot as much photos as you can for your memory of the place. Continue your trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp. Take rest and soak up the incredible views of the Himalayas from the base camp. After spending sometime at the camp head back the same way you came along to reach Badal Danda which offers the magnificient view of the sunset over the mountains.

Day 8
Badal Danda to Landruk (3250 m)

Total distance: Approximately 6-7 hours of trekking

Accommodation: Tea house at Landruk

Highlights: Spectacular views of the terraced fields and the famous Gurung village of Ghandruk

The downhill trail passes through Forest Camp and heads towards west to reach the beautiful Gurung village of Landruk lying on the main trail for Annapurna Base Camp. Enjoy the warm weather at low altitude as compare to previous days. At the far distance you can spot the village of Ghandruk famous for traditional Gurung culture. Upon your arrival at Landruk you will be taken to a local tea house.

Day 9
Landruk to Pokhara (884 m)

Total distance: Approximately 2 hours of trekking

Transportation: Private jeep/ van

Highlights: The beautiful city of lake – Pokhara

Today is the last day of our trek. After breakfast at the tea house, descend on a downhill trail to Kyumi River. Take rest for a while and continue your trek to Syauli Bazaar. You will be picked up on a jeep from Syauli Bazaar to Pokhara. Explore the city of Pokhara and the lake side in the evening. Manage your dinner on your own.

Day 10
Pokhara City Tour (884 m)

Duration: 8 hours

Highlights: The city of lakes – Pokhara

Today we will travel through different landmarks of the Pokhara City in a relaxed manner. We will visit the World Peace Pagoda located atop a nearby hill from Pokhara which offers you the majestic view of the Pokhara City and its surroundings. Our next destination would be the International Mountain Museum which gives a clear picture about the tallest mountains in the world. In the evening, we will take a boat riding in the Phewa lake. Spend the rest of the time on your own. Arrange your dinner on your own.

Day 11
Pokhara to Kathmandu (1350 m

Total distance: Approximately 7 hours by vehicle

Transportation: Private van/ jeep

Accommodation: Hotel in Kathmandu

Highlights: Various rivers, terraced fields and lush mountains

We will travel by a private van or jeep to Kathmandu. Join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner and lots of booze in the evening.

Inclusions: Breakfast and lunch including coffee or tea and water, farewell dinner, guided tour, transportation from Pokhara to Kathmandu and accommodation

Day 12
Departure from Kathmandu (1350 m)

Transportation: Private car/van
